Opening Hours : Monday to Saturay - 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Legal profession stands at a defining moment where competence, integrity and adaptability are indispensable to the effective administration of justice. The Bar is an important stakeholder in the justice system, and its young members represent the future strength and vitality of legal practice in Pakistan. They require guided exposure to courtroom practice, procedural mastery, ethical standards, and professional responsibility in order to serve the justice system with confidence and excellence.
In order to improve and enhance the professional skills of young lawyers and to provide them with structured exposure to procedural law, advocacy skills, ethical standards, the art of cross-examination, admissibility and relevancy of evidence, family laws, and revenue laws, the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA), in line with the vision of the Hon'ble Chief Justice of Pakistan has launched a flagship e-learning programme, which has also been made as the practical equivalent of the one week of mandatory Bar Vocational Course (BVC).
This initiative is conceived not merely as a training programme, but as a technology-integrated, foundational professional development pathway for young lawyers. It was formally announced by the Hon'ble Chief Justice of Pakistan during a consultative engagement with members of the Bar on May 1, 2026.
2. RATIONALE & BACKGROUND
Fresh law graduates and newly enrolled advocates often enter practice without adequate exposure to the practical dimensions of legal proceedings. The gap between academic legal education and actual courtroom requirements results in a steep, unguided learning curve. The paucity of structured training opportunities for young lawyers necessitates an accessible, quality-assured, and technology-enabled alternative.
The FJA E-Course for young lawyers addresses this need by offering a comprehensive, module-wise curriculum that caters to all the important legal aspects of advocacy skills and is made equivalent to the one week of Bar Vocational Course (BVC). Successful completion of this programme will make fresh law graduates eligible to apply for an advocacy licence after completion of the remaining one-week face to face BVC, thereby enabling them to commence practice without undue delay.
